Playing as a guest
A guest gives us a display name and nothing else. We keep it for as long as the room is alive so the rest of the room knows who you are.
With an account
An account stores your email address, your display name, your picture if you have one, and your ranked record. The email is used to sign you in and to reach you about your account.
What you make
A loop is a list of notes and settings — a few kilobytes of numbers. We keep the ones you publish, and the ones from your recent rounds so you can go back to them.
If you pay for something
Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, who are the merchant of record. That is not a formality: your card details go to Paddle and never to us. We could not see them if we wanted to, and there is no field anywhere in our database for one.
What Paddle sends back, and what we store, is the minimum needed to know that a payment happened and whose it was: a transaction id, the amount and currency, what was bought, when, and your subscription status. That is what draws the payment list on your account page and what a refund is checked against.
Invoices are the exception, and deliberately so. An invoice carries the billing name and address you gave Paddle, so we do not copy it — the Invoice button fetches a short-lived link from Paddle at the moment you press it. Nothing with your address on it is ever stored on our side.
Paddle handle that data under their own privacy policy, and they are also who to ask about billing details we do not hold. What happens to the money itself is on the refund policy — 15 days, no questions.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to build an advertising profile of you. There are no third-party analytics scripts, no ad pixels and no trackers on any page of this site.
The one piece of third-party JavaScript that exists here is Paddle's checkout, and it is loaded on demand rather than in the layout — so a visitor who never opens a checkout never downloads it and it never runs.
Deleting things
You can delete your account, which removes your profile and unpublishes your loops. Write to support@groovearena.com and we will do it.
Payment records are the one thing that survives it. Tax and accounting rules require a seller to keep a record of a sale for years after it happens, so those rows stay — detached from a profile that no longer exists, and never used for anything but that.
